The movement of a cylindrical irregularity is examined. It is concluded that a density gradient of the ambient ionization deforms irregularities completely during their movement in a distance less than the scale height of the ambient ionization density; during this movement the density of only weak irregularities may increase by less than a few per cent in the E-region and by several ten per cent in higher regions. This conclusion is true for irregularities of any shape including linear-waves.
