Galaxy groups are a fundamental environment to study in order to understand galaxy group and cluster formation and the feedback processes in the intracluster medium. In order to assess and interpret the scatter in the global scaling relations, the use of a clearly defined sample is necessary. We built an X-ray flux limited group sample and observed it with Chandra ACIS-S. We study the morphology, temperature, density and entropy profiles of these groups and determine that they fall equally in two broad categories: cool-core groups and non-cool groups, which greatly influences the entropy profile. Thus the study of a complete sample influences the derived mean properties of the groups.
