We report the preliminary results of our model for predicting the temperature and luminosity of galaxy groups. We began by deriving of a formula for modeling the temperature profiles of galaxy groups from the heating by gravitational collapse only. We calculate the power and luminosity for a group of 1013 Msolar and find that, if cooled unchecked, groups with these initial conditions would not be observable today unless they receive a significant boost of energy over their lifetime.
