In an effort to better understand the relationship between coronal waves (EIT waves) and chromospheric waves, we study two events in which waves are observed simultaneously in both Fe XII (19.5 nm) and He I (1083 nm): lines formed in the corona and chromosphere, respectively. Comparing the waves observed in these two lines allows the determination of the spatial relationship between coronal and chromospheric waves, and thus aids in the understanding of the underlying physics of waves. The main goal of this work is to begin an investigation into whether coronal and chromospheric waves are both mechanical waves (e.g., MHD waves), or whether chromospheric waves are simply "reflections" of mechanical waves propagating in the corona.
