The paper presents a comparative numerical ray-trace analysis performed to investigate the whistler ducting characteristics of various field-aligned ionization density perturbations in the earth's plasmasphere. The results of ray-trace experiments in a dipole field geometry show that magnetic field line curvature plays a major role in determining ducting trajectories.
