The characteristics of O-type runaway stars are compared with those of
normal, low-velocity O stars, in order to test the hypothesis that the
runaway stars are members of the Old Disk Population. No evidence to
support the hypothesis is found. The strong concentration to the
galactic plane shows that they are Extreme Population I stars.
