We observed Io's sodium clouds from McDonald Observatory on November 18, 2000 and January 25-26, 2001. In November the molecular ion stream was visible, and the extended sodium nebula around Jupiter was rectangular-shaped. Two months later, the stream had disappeared and the nebula was dimmer and less rectangular. It is relatively rare to see this type of change in a two month period, and it indicates a significant change occurred in Io's atmosphere during the Cassini flyby.
