A technique for the calibration of a satellite borne gamma ray telescope
in the gamma ray energy range 1-30 MeV is described. The technique
utilises an on board radioactive source whose gamma ray emission is
tagged with an efficiency better than 95%. Details of the manufacturing
process of a 60Co doped plastic scintillator are given.
