We discuss the evidence for a black hole in a globular cluster in NGC 4472, an elliptical galaxy in the Virgo Cluster. This object is an ultraluminous X-ray source showing strong variability on a short timescale in a spectroscopically selected globular cluster. We also discuss its optical spectrum, which shows a broad [O III] emission line. We consider the various possibilities for producing this source's observed properties with either a stellar mass or an intermediate mass black hole.
