Seyfert 1 galaxies show very complex spectra, and the brightest of them can be well studied over the entire energy band (0.1-200keV) of the BeppoSAX NFI. The potential of a project, aimed to survey the spectral properties of a representative sample of such objects, is illustrated with preliminary results from observations of two of them, NGC 5506 and Fairall 9.
