The WiZard Collaboration is preparing a balloonborne experiment to perform a detailed investigation of the muon fluxes in the atmosphere. This dedicated effort will take place in 2002. We illustrate here the detector configuration and our novel experimental approach, which will allow us to get significantly improved results with respect to existing measurements.
