We request 90 hours on the Mopra telescope to complete a 12CO(J=1-0) survey of the molecular gas in the inner 1.4 kpc of the LMC. The primary objectives of the survey are i) to study the relationship between the molecular and atomic gas in the LMC and ii) to improve our understanding of the properties of molecular clouds in metal-poor environments. The survey will lay the foundation for molecular line analyses of the LMC clouds and identify suitable targets for follow-up with ATCA and submillimetre facilities.
