The C-COSMOS survey is a 1.8 Ms Chandra program that has imaged the center of the COSMOS field for 170ksec. (See companion poster by Elvis et al.) Adding Chandra coverage to the COSMOS survey allows us to address issues of the co-evolution of SMBH and their host galaxies, and to fully characterize the SEDs of faint AGNs and starburst galaxies not detected in the XMM-COSMOS survey. We present the optical and infrared identifications of 1761 C-COSMOS sources, to a flux limit of 5e-16 (cgs) (0.5-7 keV). The high identification rate obtained (96%) is due to the combination of deep optical (I=26), K-band (23.5) and near-infrared (3.6micron=23.5) observations and the good Chandra PSF. The multiwavelength properties of the sources in the sample can be determined by fully exploiting the unique COSMOS multi-wavelength dataset (including: HST, Spitzer, 25 band optical and near-IR photometry, plus deep IMACS and VLT optical spectroscopy). We show examples of interesting classes of objects: extreme X-ray/Optical objects, close pairs, and off-nuclear sources in galaxies.
