Solar neutrino astronomy began because of the expectation that the ^8B neutrino flux from the Sun is large enough to be measured at the Earth. The newest neutrino detectors, Super-Kamiokande and the soon to be commissioned SNO detector, will make a detailed study of the energy spectrum of ^8B neutrinos. In this talk, I will review the status of the solar neutrino problems and then focus on the state of our knowledge about the critical part of the solar neutrino spectrum coming from ^8B decay.
