The early stages of the stellar evolution (and the proof of the very existence of the young stars in Galaxy) became one of the main targets of the activity of Byurakan observatory just after its foundation. In our presentation we will describe the historical discoveries as well as the modern achievements of Byurakan observatory. It will be demonstrated that many ideas of Ambartsumian, suggested in 50-60ies, still have serious methodological value and importance, even if the observational facts and early theories, on the base of which these ideas were drawn, long ago became obsolete and superseded by new data. Special attention will be given to young stellar objects, Herbig-Haro flows and FU Ori phenomenon.
