The origin of matter and the nature of diagonalization are studied in the framework of 5D STM gravity theory with off-diagonal components in the metric tensor. The time of change of mass is presented with a simple cosmological solution and the 5D geodesic equations. In a special case, the author's solution can be compared to Chodos and Detweiler's (1982) procedure assuming that the metric possesses a spacelike Killing vector.
