5GHz VLBI observations made at four epochs between 1985.4 and 1989.3 support the previously reported evidence for superluminal motion in the parsec-scale jet of the N galaxy 3C 390.3. By using the VLA in its normal synthesis mode for the 1989.3 epoch, we also obtained a high dynamic range image of 3C 390.3 at 1.2" resolution which shows a one-sided long and very thin jet extending from the core toward the northern lobe. At the same epoch we measured the spectrum of the central component of 3C 390.3.
