Basic principle, procedure and equipment are reported for activation analysis of lunar rock with 14 MeV neutrons produced by a low energy deuteron ion accelerator. Concentrations of major elements in the lunar sample were measured quickly, accurately and nondestructively. Abundances of O, Si and Al are 40.55 + or - 0.42%, 18.74 + or - 0.35%, and 5.32 + or - 0.18%, respectively. Comparisons are made between the lunar sample and some terrestrial rocks and Apollo-11 Type B and Apollo-17 lunar rocks.
