1138-57 V1065 Cen = Nova Centauri 2007 was discovered by William Liller, Vina del Mar, Chile, on 2007 January 23.354 UT at magnitude 8.2: (Technical Pan films taken with an 85-mm focal length camera lens and an orange filter). Nothing was seen at this location to magnitude 11.5 on images taken January 15.36 UT. Spectroscopy (F.M. Walter, Stony Brook University) indicates V1065 Cen is a classical nova discovered near maximum. Data reported to the AAVSO may be found at www.aavso.org.
