A new type of 1-Hz geomagnetic pulsation was observed at the Mirnyi station. The pulsations appear on the day side of the auroral oval in the case of elevated solar-wind density, and the pulsation frequency increases with increasing solar-wind density and velocity. It is concluded that these pulsations arise as the earth is immersed in the 'plasmasphere' of a flare stream.
