The problem of stellar image quality dependence on scanning speed is generalized to the case of a nonredundant multiple aperture interferometer, and theoretical expressions are developed for the influence of scanning speed on the autocorrelation and power spectrum of the image observed with such a configuration. Laboratory simulations in which image fringe patterns are scanned in the presence of artificial turbulence are used to verify theoretical predictions. Among the related issues discussed are electronic and photodetection considerations, fringe auto correlations, and spectral analysis.
