Scientific paper

The author briefly summarizes the present status of our understanding of
solar neutrinos and neutrinos from core-collapse supernovae. The fluxes
of these neutrinos can tell us about conditions within nascent neutron
stars and within the solar core. They also provide important tests of
our understanding of nucleosynthesis and neutrino properties.
