Telescopes: Optical Design

A two-mirror telescope system is considered. The problem of calculating the exact profile of the secondary mirror for a known shape of the primary is solved for a system that is not centered in the general case. The amount of coma in a centered system having a spherical primary mirror is calculated. The aplanatism condition is found for a system consisting of a telescope attachment having a spherical mirror and a focusing objective, and its aberration characteristics are also given.
