Various neutron star models and their corresponding stars are compared. Model extensions of the high-density regime of neutron star matter such as possible quantum crystals are discussed, and different hadronic equations of state are tested to determine their effect on a possible third family of stars or on the anisotropy. The low-density equation of state is analyzed to calculate the minimum mass of a stable bound neutron star. The effects of using alternate theories of gravitation is studied.
