The behavior of an ideal fluid in space-time is considered. As a relativistic generalization corresponding to the classical case, an expression is obtained for the element of action in Hamilton's sense, reduced per unit mass. This expression has Pfaff's form, and when the corresponding Pfaff's equations are set up, the differential equations of motion for an ideal fluid in general relativity are obtained.
