UBVRI photometry and polarimetry of R CrB in the deep minimum of 1988/89 (Delta V = 5.4 m) revealed some new features. The polarization maximum occurred a month after the blueing maximum, and there was a strong correlation between V and the V-I color index. In addition, the preferential plane of polarization was about 90 deg in the equatorial coordinate frame.
