By comparing WIPM Lidar data with CIRA86 mode, radiosonde data, and HALOE data on UARS, it is proved that the accuracy of WIPM Rayleigh Lidar is reliable. According to the experimental data of routine observations conducted from 2002 to 2003, the mean temperature characteristics and the seasonal variations of the middle atmosphere temperature over Wuhan are obtained. The temperature seasonal variations show that the Lidar observations are generally cool compared with CIRA86 below stratopause. The average temperature profile shows that Lidar results are about 4 K cooler than CIRA86 mode from 30 to 45 km.
