Chemically Vapour Deposited diamond particle detectors have been under
development as radiation tolerant alternatives to silicon detectors for
the past 15 years. Here I report on recent results of tracker and pixel
detector prototypes as well as the emerging field of diamond beam loss
monitors for high intensity particle accelerators.
