We present narrow band images of the Herbig Ae/Be star HK Ori, in H-alpha, [SII], red continuum, [OII], [OIII] and green continuum with SOI at the SOAR Telescope. We observed the known Herbig-Haro object HH176, at a distance of 108 arcsec from HK Ori as well as its counterpart at 96 arcsec.
We also present spectra of HK Ori and HH176 taken with Goodman spectrograph at SOAR. The two dimensional spectra show, in addition to the known Herbig-Haro objects, the presence of two nebulae very close to the star in the direction of HH176. The closer nebula is a reflection nebula but the more distant one is clearly a shock excited nebula.
HK Ori is a close binary with separation of 0.35 arcsec consisting of an A-type primary and a G-type secondary. The discovery of the new HH object demonstrates that this system is still actively driving an outflow.
