Solar Atmosphere: Quasi-Periodic Oscillations, Radio Observations
Scientific paper
Our observational study is based on the bank of data obtained with the Nobeyama radio heliograph at wavelength of 1.76 cm with the two-dimensional resolution of about 15 arcsec and on multiwave observations made with the RATAN-600 with high but one-dimensional resolution. Comparison with the data obtained with low (minutes of arc) resolution but continuous observations were also made. The periodic component of oscillations for a number of different radio sources were found in the range from about one minute to hours. Both intensity and circular polarization were analyzed. The most stable oscillations were detected in sunspot associated sources with periods around three minutes. Five minute oscillations were also occasionally registered. For all types of the radio sources wide range of periods is present. However, they prove to be different for several bright details even in the same active region. Using developed methods based on wavelet analysis nonlinearity of oscillations were studied. Also variation of periods with time and their zug structures were analyzed. Physical nature of resonance structures and the role of oscillations in the physics of energy release and its transformation in the solar atmosphere are discussed.
