We propose to observe the LMXB bursting source 4U 1755-44 with XMM-Newton for 40 ks. Our main scientific goal is to perform high resolution spectroscopic analysis in the broad RGS/EPIC X-ray range combined with the timing analysis. The source is enough bright and not so much absorbed, to allow a detailed analysis of the X-ray spectrum in the whole 0.3-15 keV range, still avoiding spectral distortions due to pile-up. We request the observation to be performed in the Modified Timing Mode configuration; this will allow a more efficient use of the instruments, eliminting data loss due to telemetry overflow and maximizing the S/N ratio in the Fe K region.
