This program aims at observing all known obscured AGN (5 objects) for which high-quality RGS spectra can be measured within a reasonable allocation time (less than 2.5 XMM-Newton orbits). The proposed observations would double the number of objects, where diagnostics of the physical conditions in the circumnuclear gas (density, ionization state, metallicity) is possible. This goal can be achieved with a total time allocation of 965 ks.
