While feedback on the ISM/IGM by nucleated starbursts is well understood and described, it is less obvious how distributed starformation influences the ISM/IGM connection and any associated large scale flow of matter. The target of this proposal, NGC4700, is a unique case with two regions of very intensive starformation symmetric to the nucleus. The filamentary structure of the diffuse ionized gas and the associated radiocontinuum emission suggest a high pressure of the ISM driving a large scale outflow. X-ray observations with XMM/Newton will allow us to test this hypothesis and provide physical parameters important to quantify feedback. Due to the unique morphology the target can be considered a missing link between nucleated and more distributed starbursts.
