Calculations of the intensity increase of the hydroxyl emission in mesopause (at heights ~90 km) as a result of a release of hydrogen by rocket exhaust are carried out. By the estimations the characteristic size of the disturbed area reaches ~1.5 km, an increase of intensity occurs at 3-10 times, a duration of this phenomenon is ~3 minutes. Results of the observation of hydroxyl emission in the region of the rocket flight with the working engine confirm the theoretical calculations.
