Many active galactic nuclei (AGNs) show variations in their continuum flux. The delay between their emission-line light curves with respect to their optical continuum light curves gives us information on the distance of the line-emitting region from the central ionizing source. The study of the line profile variations contains information on geometry and kinematics of the broad-line emitting gas surrounding the central supermassive black hole in the nuclei of active galaxies. I present results of a spectral variability campaign of the Seyfert galaxy Mrk 110. These data have been taken with the 9.2m Hobby-Eberly Telescope at McDonald Observatory.
