Recent Skylab observations about the bright points in the solar X-ray images seem to confirm an essential prediction of a model proposed by this author for the appearance and the disappearance of the photospheric fields during a solar cycle. The segments of the individually rising strands of the 'fundamental flux-loops' proposed in the model may lead to the X-ray bright points with the observed properties. The emergence of such strands may substantially contribute to the coronal heating at different heights.
