The Monte Carlo method is used to examine the behavior of protons injected toward the sun from within a distance of 1 AU from the sun. The effect of the radial magnetic field of the sun on the particles is considered. It is shown that most of the 1-MeV protons return to the place of injection (after wandering in interplanetary space) with an energy that is greater than the energy at injection. The remaining protons (15%) return with an energy less than that at injection.
