A CCD study of the variable stars in the Draco dwarf spheroidal galaxy has identified 23 probable QSOs from their photometric variability. We propose to take spectra of these QSO candidates, as well as some of the Draco variable stars. The spectra will (1) confirm most or all of the 23 candidates as QSOs, and thus establish them as background reference objects for future measurement of the proper motion of Draco, (2) improve our knowledge of the efficiency of QSO selection by variability, (3) add to the database for variable QSOs, and (4) identify all of the rare post-HB, post-AGB, AGB, carbon-star, and RGB- tip variable stars in Draco.
