Results are presented for UBV observations of several compact galaxies in the vicinity of M31. Systematic differences are found between the photoelectric and photographic magnitudes of the galaxies in the V system which lead to an overestimation of the B-V color indices in the photographic measurements. Some of the compact galaxies appear to be red objects with B-V color indices of about 1.2 to 1.3 m. It is shown that the observed B-V and U-B colors may be associated with a peculiar stellar population in these galaxies.
