Study of meteorites reveals valuable information about the origins of
the solar system and the formation of the planets. Meteorites that come
from Mars yield insights to the geological evolution of the planet.
Other, primitive, meteorites contain interstellar grains that track the
stellar neighbourhood in which our star, the Sun, was born.
