A method of calculating minimum power-consumption for earth-Mars-Jupiter trajectories is proposed for the period extending from 1979 to 1990. The influence of the swingby conditions and of the year in which the spacecraft is launched on the trajectory parameters and the effectiveness of correction maneuvers at various flight stages is analyzed. The savings in power consumption provided by the swingby maneuver are shown to depend strongly on the year in which the launch occurs.
