A brief history of the meteor radars developed by the National Center for Telecommunication Studies is followed by a description of the equipment and data analysis techniques. Details are given of the simultaneously measured radio meteor winds over Garchy, France (47 deg N, 3 deg E) and Kiruna, Sweden (68 deg N, 20 deg E) during August 1974, and over Garchy for October 1975 and January 1976. Of particular significance are the measurements during January, 1976, where a continuous twenty-three day interval is characterized by considerable waxing and waning of the semidiurnal amplitude, with a nine to ten day periodicity, and evidence of considerable long term variability in both the diurnal and 'prevailing' wind components.
