The equation for radial diffusion in a planetary magnetosphere is developed for the case in which the mean collision time is longer than the bounce time but shorter than the characteristic time scale of diffusion. An intuitive, mean-free-time method is used on the assumption that the coherence time of the perturbation electric field is longer than the mean collision time. The equation can be applied to ambient plasma in the Jovian magnetosphere.
