We present BVRI surface photometry for six barred spiral galaxies. B-V and R-I color maps are used to investigate stellar populations of the bar and nucleus. Results suggest a difference between the nucleus and bar populations, albeit minor. Nuclear and bar populations correspond roughly to integrated spectral types of early K-type and late G-type giants, respectively. In all galaxies, surface brightness profiles suggest star formation activity is occurring near the ends of the bar. In addition, color indices in the central regions of all but one galaxy suggest active star formation within the nucleus. Within the central 5 arc seconds of all but one galaxy, both B-V and R-I color indices become bluer than surrounding regions. Examination of 2-color diagrams strongly suggests the effect of interstellar extinction is uniform along the bar and nucleus.
