Twenty different models, formed by different combinations of energy levels, of the Fe XI ion of the solar corona were considered under the assumption that the coronal medium is defined by two basic parameters: temperature and electron density. For each of these models, the relative populations of the ground state of the ion were calculated and linear equations of stationary statistical equilibrium were solved by reducing each of the models considered to an equivalent model of smaller dimension.
