The paper derives the equations of the vibrations of a spacecraft consisting of a rigid body with attached elastic elements under modal testing. The structure is suspended by cables and springs. Approximate analytical relationships are given which can be used to evaluate the effect of suspension-system forces on the natural vibration frequencies. An example of determining the vibration equations for a free-free spacecraft is presented.
