The purpose of the present study is to estimate the contents of several elements such as Sc, Cr, and Co in the parent magma of the anorthosites and compare these data with those obtained from the parent magma of the Mg-suite rocks, which are early formed plutonic rocks (norites and troctolites) that are different from the anorthosites. The results have some bearing on the models for the early evolution of the lunar crust.
