The great variety of plasma behaviors found in planetary magnetospheres has been attested by the Voyager 2 Neptune encounter and the Galileo gravitational-assist encounters with both Venus and the earth. The Neptune magnetosphere is noted to be the least active of the magnetized planetary magnetospheres. Substorm-like activity has been noted to occur within the Uranus magnetosphere.
