Experimental data and simulation results are presented on the generation
of very low frequency (VLF) and extremely low frequency (ELF) radiation
in the inhomogeneous plasma of the plasmapause region. It is assumed
that inhomogeneities of plasma density in that region can be represented
in the form of tubes aligned along the geomagnetic field lines.
