Our CFHT R,I,CN and TiO photometric survey, specifically designed to identify intermediate-age carbon stars, has revealed that NGC 6822 possesses a huge intermediate-age ``halo''. An old halo has been seen around a few Local Group dwarfs (Minniti et al. 1999; Minniti & Zijlstra 1997) but never before an intermediate-age halo. The goal of this proposal is to obtain the radial velocity of ~ 900 C stars to establish their kinematics properties to determine if they belong to a pressure supported halo or if they are members of a thick disk also in rotation somewhat like the HI. The analysis of the kinematics of these stars is an essential step to explain the origin of such ``halo''.
